Visit to Bangur Nagar Slum in Mumbai

On Children's Day: A Visit to Bangur Nagar Slum in Mumbai

Amid the bustling streets and skyscrapers of Mumbai, a different world exists - narrow lanes, makeshift shelters and children whose laughter echoes through the air. Here, a joy was found in the hearts of the children of Bangur Nagar slum, we visited this area on the auspicious day of Children's Day, 14th November.

A chorus of excited voices and curious glances is heard upon entering the slums. Children, their faces full of innocence and joy, eagerly surrounded us, their eyes sparkling with anticipation. It was a sight that tugged at our heartstrings, reminding us of the innocence and spirit these children possess.

With compassionate hearts filled with chocolates and bags full of gifts, we began our mission to spread smiles and celebrate the spirit of Children's Day. Every gift, no matter how small, was met with wide-eyed wonder and a charming smile. The children's joy was palpable, their laughter filling the air like a scent of happiness.

As we interacted with the children, we learned about their dreams and aspirations. They spoke of becoming doctors, teachers and engineers, their eyes shining with the promise of a bright future. Despite the difficulties faced, a firm belief was seen in his unwavering faith and hope.

In their eyes, we saw a reflection of our country's bright future - a future full of potential, creativity and resilience. These children, despite their dire circumstances, embody the essence of Children's Day - a spirit of innocence, joy and unwavering faith in a better tomorrow.

Our visit to the Bangur Nagar slum was not just a gift-giving activity; It was a journey of learning and inspiration. It reminds us of the power of kindness, the importance of compassion and the transformative impact of the smallest act of generosity.

As we left the slums, we took with us a treasure trove of memories - the innocent laughter of the children, their sparkling eyes and their unwavering hope for the future. His spirit serves as a beacon, reminding us that the human spirit can shine brightly even in times of adversity.

On this Children's Day, let us resolve to nurture and protect the dreams of these young minds, provide them with the opportunities they deserve and empower them to become the change makers of tomorrow. Let us create a world where every child can thrive, where their laughter fills the air and where their dreams take flight.

Arvind Viras and our friend Ravi Kelji were present in this work.

Congratulations to the teachers who gave education to all these children, they gave their precious time to educate these children on the road.
